A bit too big for this day and age. Too hard to maintain. There are many of these old places falling down all over Ireland. In their heyday there was a poor local population willing to work for subsistence wages. Not nowadays.

    Is that an ancient ruin?

Apparently it is an old hunting lodge which belonged to local gentry. It is at the end of a long lane on land next to ours. Have’nt been over there yet but I will explore further at some point. These old buildings intrigue me.

Just found your new blog, Bridget, and read all your entries. Love it. Congratulations on your new home. How wonderful that you moved in on St. Bridget’s day. It is so exciting to have a new garden to plan. I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Love your Aga, too. I wish you love and happiness in your new abode! P. x

Hi Pam. Thanks for good wishes. Much work to do in the garden. It has been neglected for some time but a good skeleton lies beneath. Hope you are well.
